This weekend for the first time ever, a brand-new motion picture of The Lion King will be available for audiences of all ages. The release date is July 19th. I’m very hopeful for the upcoming movie. It plans to encapsulate the original film and give it a new visual for the modern age. Of course, you should also expect a modern touch to the new film. But for now, Disney released the soundtrack for The Lion King and its time to reminisce in the days of youth.

Oh no, a New Soundtrack…?

We understand, a new soundtrack for The Lion King… You sure that’s a good idea? Nothing will ever replace the original and that is for sure. However, we must give people a chance so that this beautiful array of music can be shared with yet another generation. The stars of this movie are names we know and can be reassured about in their field. Donald Glover, Beyoncé, Seth Rogan and plenty more are here to recapture this astounding film in its proper light. But it all really comes down to one thing. Can they sing and perform the feelings portrayed within the music?

Down to Brass Tacks

The quality of the soundtrack is what is being questioned here. With the support from these stars, truly I can say that…. they did this film justice. Personally, just hearing the music gave me a childish feeling of nostalgia. Their vocal performance was not only well done, but it sounds like they were able to capture the spirit of this film. With heart felt classics like “Circle of Life” and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight,” to happy and exciting renditions of “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” and “Hakuna Matata.” Each song represents a piece of this classic Disney movie.

In regard to the soundtrack, I believe it will sate your desire until this weekend’s release. The Lion King will be shown in a theater near you as of July 19th. Check out the official trailer above if you still haven’t been convinced!
