Broward County Hosts Parties
Broward County is giving soccer fans a chance to experience the excitement of the 2026 FIFA World Cup without purchasing a match ticket, announcing a series of free watch parties at the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise that can accommodate up to 18,000 people per event. Officials say the gatherings are designed to bring the community together as South Florida prepares to serve as one of the global tournament’s major host regions.
The free events will be held inside the arena, home to the NHL’s Florida Panthers, and will feature giant video screens showing key World Cup matches. Broward County officials are requiring advance reservations, with a limit of six tickets per reservation in an effort to ensure broad public access.
According to organizers, four watch parties are currently scheduled throughout the tournament. The first will take place June 12 when the United States men’s national team faces Paraguay. Arena doors are expected to open at least one hour before kickoff, giving fans time to enter and enjoy the pregame atmosphere. Additional watch parties are scheduled for June 27, July 11, and the World Cup Final on July 19.
Bringing the World Cup Experience to Broward
The watch parties are part of a broader regional effort to capitalize on the unprecedented attention the World Cup is bringing to South Florida. While matches will be played at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, local governments across Miami Dade and Broward counties have been working to create fan focused events that extend beyond the stadium itself.
Tourism officials and local leaders expect millions of visitors and significant economic activity during the tournament. Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner recently predicted the World Cup could generate approximately $1.3 billion in economic impact for the region, highlighting the scale of the event and the opportunities it presents for businesses, restaurants, hotels, and entertainment venues across South Florida.
A Chance for Fans Without Match Tickets
With World Cup tickets often commanding premium prices and limited availability, public watch parties have become an increasingly popular way for communities to participate in the tournament. Large scale viewing events allow fans to gather with fellow supporters, watch matches on massive screens, and experience the atmosphere of a major international sporting event without entering the stadium.
County officials say the Amerant Bank Arena events are expected to attract thousands of residents and visitors throughout the tournament. The indoor venue offers a climate controlled environment during South Florida’s summer heat while providing enough capacity to host one of the largest public soccer viewing experiences in the state.
South Florida Ready for the Global Spotlight
The 2026 FIFA World Cup, jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, is the largest World Cup ever staged, featuring 48 national teams. South Florida is expected to be one of the tournament’s busiest destinations, with international visitors arriving from around the globe for matches and related events.
For Broward County residents who may not have secured match tickets, the free watch parties offer a rare opportunity to be part of the World Cup experience while cheering alongside thousands of fellow fans.
