Amazon Delivery Truck Erupts in Flames in Downtown Miami

Amazon Truck Catches Fire in Broad Daylight

A delivery truck bearing Amazon’s logo erupted into flames in downtown Miami Thursday afternoon, sending plumes of dark smoke into the air and drawing a heavy emergency response, according to Miami Fire Rescue officials. The incident occurred near 200 South Biscayne Boulevard, just steps from some of the city’s busiest office towers and residential high-rises. Video shared with Local 10 News shows the truck fully engulfed, with flames shooting from the cargo area as passersby looked on.

Firefighters Contain the Blaze Quickly

Miami Fire Rescue said crews arrived within minutes of receiving the call and were able to put out the fire before it spread to nearby vehicles or buildings. No injuries were reported. “The fire was isolated to the truck itself,” said Miami Fire Rescue Captain Ignatius Carroll in a statement to reporters. “Our teams responded quickly and were able to keep the flames from spreading despite the intensity.” Officials did not immediately say what caused the fire, but the truck appeared to be completely destroyed.

Investigation Underway

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation. Fire inspectors were seen examining the charred remains of the vehicle Thursday evening, working to determine whether a mechanical malfunction or an electrical issue sparked the incident. Amazon has not yet released a public statement about the fire or confirmed whether the driver was on duty at the time.

Downtown Traffic Snarled

The fire temporarily shut down traffic in parts of downtown Miami as emergency crews worked the scene. Motorists were advised to avoid the area around Biscayne Boulevard and Southeast 2nd Street during the cleanup and investigation.
