Ariana Grande and Ben Stiller Face Off in ‘Focker-In-Law’ Trailer

Ariana Grande Joins the Fockers

Ariana Grande is entering the chaotic world of the Focker family in the first trailer for “Focker-In-Law,” setting up a new comedic showdown with Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro. The upcoming movie brings Stiller back as Greg Focker and De Niro back as the intimidating Jack Byrnes. This time, however, the story introduces a new generation of the family, with Grande joining the cast as Olivia, the girlfriend of Greg’s son, Henry.

A New Focker Family Battle

The trailer immediately establishes tension between Greg and Olivia. Greg appears determined to make sure his son is making the right choice, but Olivia is not easily intimidated. Grande’s character is presented as confident, capable and more than prepared to deal with the Focker family’s unusual methods of testing new members. Her character’s background as a former FBI hostage negotiator only adds to the comedy. That becomes especially clear when Olivia finds herself facing one of the franchise’s most recognizable traditions: the dreaded lie detector test conducted by Jack Byrnes.

Ariana Grande Takes On Comedy

Grande is taking on another major acting role following her performance as Glinda in “Wicked.” While her recent work has showcased her dramatic and musical talents, “Focker-In-Law” gives her a chance to lean into comedy and play opposite some of Hollywood’s biggest comedic performers. Her scenes with Stiller create much of the trailer’s central conflict, with Greg seemingly convinced that Olivia could be trouble for his family. Instead of being overwhelmed by the Fockers, Olivia appears ready to challenge them at every turn.

Familiar Faces Return

The new movie also brings back several familiar members of the franchise. Blythe Danner returns as Dina Focker, while Teri Polo reprises her role as Pam Focker. Owen Wilson is also returning as Kevin Rawley. Skyler Gisondo joins the returning cast as Henry Focker, putting the next generation at the center of the story. The movie is written and directed by John Hamburg, who has been closely involved with the “Meet the Parents” franchise since its earlier installments.

The Fockers Are Back

The original “Meet the Parents” debuted in 2000 and became a major comedy hit, eventually leading to “Meet the Fockers” in 2004 and “Little Fockers” in 2010. “Focker-In-Law” brings the characters back more than a decade after the last installment, while introducing a younger generation and a new relationship that could once again put Greg in an uncomfortable position. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on November 25, 2026. The trailer makes one thing clear: Greg Focker may think he has learned how to survive his family, but dealing with his son’s girlfriend could be his biggest challenge yet.
