First Period

The Panthers scored the first three goals of the game with Ryan Lomberg scroing his first goal of the season. Gustav Forsling scored his second goal of the season, followed by Aleksander Barkov scoring his three goal of the season giving the Panthers an early 3-0 lead. However the Blue Jackets quickly responded, scoring two goals before the end of the period making it 3-2 Panthers lead.

Second Period

Saw an uptick in physical play, as both teams vied for control of the game. The goaltenders, Sergei Bobrovsky for the Panthers and Spencer Martin for the Blue Jackets who replaced Elvis Merzlikins, made crucial saves to keep their teams in the contest. The Blue Jackets scored on a power-play opportunity when Kirill Marchenko scored his second goal of the season tying the game at 3-3, Nobody would break the deadlock  as the second frame ended at 3-3.

Third Period

As the tension mounted in the third period, the Blue Jackets once again took the lead with a goal from Alexander Texier his first goal of the season. With time ticking away, the Panthers faced the challenge of overcoming a deficit at home. The game reached its climax when Florida’s forward, Nick Cousins, netted a dramatic equalizer with just under one minute remaining in regulation.

Overtime

Washington Capitals struck first, gaining the lead with Anthony Mantha scoring his second goal of the season. However, the Panthers responded swiftly, with a well-executed play that led to a tying goal, sending the Capitals crowd into a frenzy. Oliver Ekman-Larsson scored his third goal of the season making it 1-1. The Panthers would scored again in the first period when Aleksander Barkov scored his fourth goal of the season giving the Panthers a 2-1 lead at the end of the period.

Second and Third Periods

The teams exchanged blows throughout the second period, with Capitals managing to score two goals to break the tie before the end of the second period buzzer. The Capitals Connor McMichael and Anthony Mantha his secong goal of he game gave the Capitals a 3-2 lead. Panthers responded in the third period when Evan Rodrigues scored his third goal of the season leading to the game tying goal at 3-3, but neither team managed to break the tie before the final buzzer, pushing the game into overtime.

Overtime

Overtime proved to be a rollercoaster of emotions for both sides. The extra period action ened quickly when Sam Reinhart scored the game-winning goal. The Panthers, known for their resilience, dug deep and intensified their offensive efforts. The crowd in disapointment as the Panthers’ forward, Sam Reinhart, netted the decisive goal, securing the 4-3 victory over the Capitals. Matthew Tkachuk scored his third goal of the season and Uvis Balinskis scored his first goal of the season giving the Panthers a 2-1 lead at the end of the first period.
