Operation ‘Epic Fury’ in Iran is Costing American Tax Payers an Epic Amount of Money

This war is starting to piss me off. From all the lies that the US is telling, Iran is telling, and Israel is telling. Then you have the casualties that are not being reported. And speaking of the casualties, that girl’s school in Iran didn’t bomb itself.

Oh, and did I mention the soaring gas prices? Do you like paying nearly $4.00 a gallon? Well, enjoy it because it is going to go up to well past $4.00 anyways. And then you have the cost to taxpayers. Get ready for this one, folks, because it’s a whopper!

Pentagon officials told lawmakers during a briefing earlier this week that the approximate cost of ‘Epic Fury’ in Iran is more than $11.3 billion in the first six days of action. The figure was relayed to senators in a classified briefing on Capitol Hill.

In a sign of dishonesty through omission, the Pentagon declined to comment on the briefing. A Pentagon spokesperson said the department won’t know the cost of ‘Operation Epic Fury’ “until the mission is complete”. Well obviously! But the cost of the first six days is already a sh*tload! And we are going to be going way past six days, so buckle in.

The figure comes as lawmakers continue to question the scope of the war. And as legislators continue debating the prospect of approving a supplemental defense funding package, some Democrats have indicated that they would oppose the spending measure until more information about the ongoing war is relayed.

The first 100 hours of “Operation Epic Fury” have cost about $3.7 billion, or $891.4 million each day, an estimate from national security-focused think tank The Center for Strategic and International Studies said last week.

Defense Department officials said in an estimate delivered to lawmakers that the Pentagon burned through around $5.6 billion worth of munitions during the first two days of the war with Iran. OMMMGGGG!!!! Are we serious?

I got news for you, we don’t have this money. And this is rapidly getting out of control. And while the focus will be on casualties, gas prices, and regime change, the cost of this war will continue to be a backburner issue. And honestly, it really shouldn’t be. We are in so much debt that this figure should be making Americans sick.

And if the Pentagon wants to be evasive with the media and the public and make light of the costs of the war until it is actually over, then fine. But if the figure is this high after six days, can we even fathom what it will be when the war is actually over?
