Adebayo Reaches 10,000 Points as Heat Beat Pistons 121–110 for Fifth Straight Win

The Miami Heat continued their strong run Sunday night, defeating the Detroit Pistons 121–110 behind big performances from Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo.

Herro scored 25 points, while Adebayo added 24 points, nine rebounds and six assists as Miami improved to 36–29 on the season. The victory extended the Heat’s winning streak to five games and pushed them seven games above .500, matching their best mark of the season.

Adebayo also reached a major milestone during the win. Entering the night needing 23 points, the All-Star center surpassed 10,000 career points, becoming just the second player to reach that mark while wearing a Heat uniform, joining franchise legend Dwyane Wade.

Miami got strong support from Jaime Jaquez Jr., who finished with 19 points and seven assists as the Heat controlled the game from the opening minutes.

The Heat were again shorthanded. Norman Powell (groin), Nikola Jovic (back) and Andrew Wiggins (toe) all remained sidelined, but Miami’s depth helped offset the absences.

Detroit was led by All-Star guard Cade Cunningham, who recorded 26 points and 10 assists, while center Jalen Duren added 24 points. Despite the effort, the loss extended the Pistons’ season-worst losing streak to four games.

Detroit still sits atop the Eastern Conference standings, though its lead over the Boston Celtics has shrunk to just 2½ games.

Miami set the tone early, jumping out to an 18-point lead by the end of the first quarter. The Pistons trailed by as many as 25 points in the first half—their largest deficit before halftime this season—and the Heat maintained a double-digit advantage for the final 38:27 of the game.

Detroit had a chance to cut the deficit further midway through the third quarter when Marcus Sasser missed a three-pointer that would have brought the Pistons within 15. Moments later, Herro effectively put the game out of reach.

The Heat guard drilled three consecutive three-pointers in a span of 1:51, igniting a run that pushed Miami’s lead to 93–66 and silenced any hopes of a Pistons comeback.

With the victory, Miami also secured the season series 2–1, becoming the first Eastern Conference team to win its season matchup with Detroit this year.

The Pistons travel to face the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday. The Heat return home to host the Washington Wizards on Tuesday.
