Phoenix Man Accused of Serial Public Indecency Released on Bond Despite Multiple Allegations
PHOENIX, AZ — A 24-year-old Phoenix man, Ahmad Maleik Levon, is facing multiple charges of public indecency after allegedly exposing himself and masturbating in front of several women over the course of more than a year. Despite the serious nature of the accusations, Levon turned himself in Thursday and was released from jail Friday morning after posting a mere $50 bond.
Court documents obtained by 12 News and confirmed by local law enforcement detail a string of incidents attributed to Levon between November 2019 and February 2020. The reported behavior spans multiple public locations, including retail stores, public streets, and college campuses.
According to official records, Levon is accused of three separate incidents involving women he allegedly targeted between November 4, 2019, and February 17, 2020. In one case from November 2019, Levon allegedly pulled his pants down and masturbated while staring at two women standing across the street. In another incident in January 2020, he reportedly entered a Lowe’s Home Improvement store and began masturbating just ten feet from a female employee. That employee later identified him through a photo lineup, and security footage from the store reportedly corroborates her claim.
In a separate incident dating back to February 2019, Levon was also accused of exposing himself to two women on the campus of Phoenix College. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 13 for that case, while his arraignment for the 2019–2020 charges is set for March 4.
As part of his pre-trial release conditions, Levon was required to pay a $50 bond and submit to DNA testing. His current whereabouts are unknown, raising public concerns and frustration.
At least four women who claim to have been victimized by Levon have come forward publicly, expressing shock and dismay at his release.
“It’s sad because so many people don’t come forward because of situations like this,” said one of the victims, who asked to remain anonymous. “The judicial system is just horribly broken.”
Critics argue that the bond amount and lack of monitoring suggest a troubling disregard for victims’ safety and public decency. Despite the pattern of behavior, authorities have not indicated whether Levon faces any enhanced charges for being a repeat offender.
Phoenix Police and prosecutors have declined to comment on why the bond was set so low. Lowe’s also did not respond to a request for comment.
As Levon’s court dates approach, women’s advocacy groups in Arizona are calling for reforms in how repeat public indecency cases are handled, arguing that the justice system is failing both victims and communities.
