Bane’s Fourth-Quarter Takeover Lifts Magic Past Raptors, 130-120

Desmond Bane took over when it mattered most, pouring in 16 of his game-high 32 points in the fourth quarter as the Orlando Magic stormed back from a double-digit deficit to beat the Toronto Raptors 130-120 on Friday night.

Orlando trailed by as many as 14 points late in the third quarter and entered the final period facing a 99-86 deficit after Toronto closed the quarter on a 19-8 run behind Brandon Ingram and Scottie Barnes. But the Magic flipped the script with a sharp-shooting fourth quarter, fueled by Bane’s timely scoring burst.

Bane knocked down three straight jumpers — including a pair of 3-pointers — during a decisive stretch after the game was tied at 104, giving Orlando control for good. The Magic were lethal from beyond the arc, shooting 17 of 34 from 3-point range overall and an impressive 6 of 9 in the fourth quarter.

Paolo Banchero delivered a well-rounded performance with 20 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, while Wendell Carter Jr. added 23 points and seven rebounds. Anthony Black continued his strong play with 25 points and six assists as Orlando earned its second straight win following a four-game losing streak.

Toronto was led by Ingram, who scored 35 points, and Barnes, who finished with 19 points, nine rebounds, six assists and four blocks. All five Raptors starters scored in double figures, and rookie Ja’Kobe Walter chipped in 13 points off the bench.

Despite shooting a solid 51.2% from the field, the Raptors struggled down the stretch, making just five of 18 shots in the fourth quarter. Toronto also had trouble from long range, going only 7 of 28 from 3-point distance for the game.

The Raptors will look to regroup when they return home to face Utah on Sunday, while the Magic head to San Antonio riding momentum into their matchup with the Spurs.
