Celtics Dominate Heat 103-85 Behind Tatum’s 33-Point Performance

The Boston Celtics continued their dominance over the Miami Heat with a commanding 103-85 victory on Monday night. Jayson Tatum led the way with 33 points, while Kristaps Porzingis added 17 in a game where Boston’s long-range attack overwhelmed Miami.

Boston took an eye-popping 53 three-pointers in the game compared to just 32 two-point attempts, underscoring their perimeter-oriented offense. Al Horford contributed 16 points, Sam Hauser chipped in 15, and Derrick White added 13 as the Celtics showcased their depth.

Despite missing key starters Jaylen Brown (knee swelling) and Jrue Holiday (shoulder), Boston’s offense remained potent, controlling the game after an early deficit. Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla remained optimistic about his team’s injury concerns, referring to them as opportunities rather than setbacks.

Miami, missing both Tyler Herro and Jaime Jaquez Jr. due to illness, struggled mightily on offense. Bam Adebayo led the Heat with 22 points and 12 rebounds, but the rest of the team failed to find a rhythm. Andrew Wiggins made his Miami debut following the Jimmy Butler trade, scoring 11 points but shooting inefficiently.

Miami’s new acquisitions, including Wiggins, Davion Mitchell, and Kyle Anderson, combined to shoot just 5-for-25 from the field and 2-for-13 from three-point range. The Heat managed just 33.7% shooting overall, marking the 69th time in franchise history they have shot under 35% in a regular-season game. They are now 2-67 in those contests.

This latest loss extends Miami’s offensive woes against Boston. The Heat have now been held under 90 points in each of their last five meetings with the Celtics, including playoff matchups. Boston has now won five straight against Miami, all in dominant fashion.

Miami got off to a strong start, jumping out to a 24-13 lead. However, Boston responded with a devastating 26-5 run over the next seven minutes, seizing control of the game. From that point on, the Celtics never looked back.

The Celtics will finish their pre-All-Star schedule at home against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Heat face a tough road back-to-back, playing at Oklahoma City on Wednesday before heading to Dallas on Thursday.

With another lopsided win over Miami, Boston reaffirmed its place atop the Eastern Conference, while the Heat continue searching for answers in the post-Jimmy Butler era.
