Flanigans Customers Robbed at Gun Point in Miramar

Armed Robbery Outside Popular Miramar Restaurant Under Investigation

Miramar, FL – Police officers in Broward County are investigating an armed robbery that took place outside the Flanigan’s restaurant on Miramar Parkway and Red Road. The incident occurred early last Thursday morning, just before 1 a.m., as the restaurant was nearing its closing time.

According to authorities, two victims were accosted at gunpoint by two robbers as they were leaving the restaurant. The assailants demanded and took some of the victims’ belongings. In a dramatic turn of events, the victims fired shots at the robbers, who returned fire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the exchange.

Regular patrons of Flanigan’s expressed their shock and concern over the incident. “I’m surprised, that’s unfortunate, a lot of people eat here with their families,” said Venesha Carter, a frequent customer. “It’s always busy, even at night time.”

Christopher Marrero, another customer, shared his disbelief, stating, “Every time I’ve ever come here, I’ve never seen any form of issue.” The incident has sparked calls for increased security measures at the restaurant. “An innocent person could have gotten hurt that had nothing to do with it,” Carter added. “Maybe they need to get a security person out here to monitor.”

The restaurant, which opened just last year, has not yet commented on the incident.

“Everybody comes here to have a good time, we don’t want anything unfortunate to happen to anybody,” Carter emphasized, reflecting the community’s sentiments.

The suspects remain at large, and the Miramar police urge anyone with information about the robbery to come forward. Tips can be reported to the Miramar Police Department or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.

As the investigation continues, residents and patrons of the area are left to grapple with the unsettling nature of the crime, hoping for swift justice and enhanced safety measures in the future.
