Florida State Rolls Past Central Arkansas 34-7 Behind Strong Performance From Ashton Daniels

Seminoles Score on Six of Their First Seven Drives

Florida State took control from the opening kickoff and never looked back, defeating Central Arkansas 34-7 on Saturday in Week 4 of the college football season. Quarterback Ashton Daniels threw two touchdown passes, while Ousmane Kromah rushed for two scores as the Seminoles (2-2) scored on their first four drives against the FCS program. Florida State finished with points on six of its first seven possessions while averaging 8.7 yards per play.

Daniels Delivers Two Touchdown Passes

Daniels completed 12 of 18 passes for 224 yards and connected with Duce Robinson on a 29-yard touchdown pass before finding Jayvan Boggs for a 34-yard scoring strike. Boggs was one of the biggest offensive standouts for the Seminoles, setting career highs with six receptions and 122 yards. The sophomore entered the game with 118 receiving yards on six catches through Florida State’s first three games.

Kromah added 86 yards on 11 carries, scoring on runs of 6 and 1 yards. The sophomore has now scored five touchdowns this season and has found the end zone in every game. Jalen Washington provided Central Arkansas’ only touchdown, rushing for a 2-yard score. He finished with 71 yards on 18 carries. Bears quarterback Donovyn Omolo completed 15 of 30 passes for 138 yards as Central Arkansas managed 248 total yards and averaged just 3.6 yards per play.

Florida State Defense Keeps Central Arkansas in Check

Although Central Arkansas controlled the time of possession, holding the ball for 39:12, the Bears struggled to turn their extended possessions into points. Florida State’s defense consistently limited the Central Arkansas offense and helped the Seminoles build a comfortable advantage early.

Florida State’s offense also showed balance throughout the afternoon, moving the ball effectively through both the air and on the ground. The Seminoles’ six scoring drives helped put the game out of reach despite some mistakes.

Florida State was penalized 10 times for 115 yards, including a roughing-the-punter penalty that extended a Central Arkansas drive. The Seminoles will need to clean up those mistakes as they move into ACC play.

Mike Norvell Faces Former School

The matchup also carried a personal connection for Florida State coach Mike Norvell, who graduated from Central Arkansas. Norvell and current Bears coach Nathan Brown were teammates for two seasons in 2004 and 2005.

After opening the season with losses to ranked opponents SMU and Alabama, Norvell and the Seminoles were able to get back on track with a convincing victory over Central Arkansas. The win gives Florida State momentum heading into a challenging stretch of its schedule.

Seminoles Turn Attention to ACC Play

Florida State now begins its Atlantic Coast Conference schedule with Virginia, Louisville and Miami coming up before the team’s second bye week. The Seminoles will host Virginia on Oct. 3 as they begin conference play. Central Arkansas (2-3) will have a bye before returning to action Oct. 10 at Abilene Christian.
