Luxury Cars Stolen from Miami Hurricanes QB’s Home; One Arrest Made

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with a burglary at the home of University of Miami quarterback Carson Beck, where three luxury vehicles were stolen early Thursday morning, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office announced.

Tykwon Deandre Anderson, 20, of Miami Gardens, was taken into custody Thursday night and now faces multiple charges, including burglary of an occupied dwelling while wearing a mask, grand theft, and grand theft of a vehicle.

Burglary and Vehicle Theft

According to an arrest report, the crime occurred around 2:45 a.m. at Beck’s residence in southwest Miami-Dade while he and his girlfriend, Hanna Cavinder, were asleep. Cavinder, along with her twin sister Haley, plays basketball for the University of Miami.

Investigators say Anderson and three unidentified accomplices arrived in a rented Mercedes-Benz E63. Two of them scaled a concrete fence to access the property. One suspect broke into Cavinder’s Range Rover, where he found a garage opener, which was then used to enter the home. Once inside, the suspect stole key fobs to the vehicles, which had been left in the living room.

The thieves made off with three high-end vehicles:

  • A silver Mercedes-Benz E-645 (belonging to Beck)
  • A Lamborghini Urus (parked in the garage)
  • A Range Rover (belonging to Cavinder)

Recovery and Arrest

Authorities located the Range Rover abandoned on Southwest 86th Street later that morning. Beck’s Mercedes-Benz was found later in the day on Southwest 64th Avenue.

Detectives linked Anderson to the crime after discovering that the Mercedes-Benz E63 used in the burglary had been rented under his name. He was later pulled over in the same rental vehicle in the 19000 block of Northwest 29th Place and taken into custody.

While in custody at the Kendall District Station, Anderson reportedly confessed to the crime and provided detailed information about how the burglary was carried out. He also admitted to driving the stolen Lamborghini.

As of Friday morning, Anderson was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, awaiting a bond hearing.

Authorities are still searching for the three other individuals involved in the crime. Anyone with information is urged to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
