Holly Hill Man Arrested After Shooting Into Home Following Assault Allegation
HOLLY HILL, FL – A 27-year-old Holly Hill man has been arrested after allegedly returning to a home and firing multiple shotgun rounds into the residence following an altercation over groping allegations.
The Incident
The suspect, Matthew Rondeau, was taken into custody on Monday on a warrant charging him with five counts of shooting into a dwelling. The incident occurred on December 7 at a home where Rondeau had been drinking with friends.
According to police, the homeowner returned from the bathroom to find Rondeau groping his wife. An argument ensued, during which the homeowner escorted Rondeau outside and slapped him several times before Rondeau left the property in his Jeep.
Minutes later, the Jeep returned, and Rondeau allegedly fired multiple rounds into the home using a pump-action shotgun.
No Injuries Despite Close Call
The shots shattered the home’s front window, with several residents, including a sleeping 8-year-old boy, inside at the time. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The homeowner quickly instructed everyone to get down on the floor as the gunfire erupted.
