Team USA continued its dominant run at the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, defeating Switzerland 5–0 in Group A women’s hockey action on Monday. The Americans controlled the game from the opening puck drop, applying relentless offensive pressure and never allowing Switzerland to find its rhythm.
Veteran leadership and emerging talent combined to power the United States to victory. Captain Hilary Knight helped orchestrate the attack with two assists, while Alex Carpenter contributed a goal and an assist in the balanced offensive performance.
Much of the spotlight, however, belonged to the next generation of American players. Haley Winn, Hannah Bilka, and Caroline Harvey each scored the first Olympic goals of their careers, showcasing the depth and future promise of the U.S. roster. Joy Dunne, the youngest player on Team USA, added another milestone by scoring her second career Olympic goal in her debut Games.
Defensively, the Americans were just as impressive, shutting out Switzerland and maintaining firm control in all three zones. The victory keeps the United States undefeated in the Olympic tournament, having now outscored opponents 15–1 in group play.
The win sets up one of the most anticipated matchups of the Games. Team USA will face archrival Canada on Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 2:10 p.m. ET, renewing one of the greatest rivalries in international sports with Olympic positioning on the line.
The game will be streamed live on NBCOlympics.com and Peacock, as the longstanding USA–Canada showdown once again takes center ice on the Olympic stage.
