Baltimore Ravens Dominate Buffalo Bills in 35-10 Sunday Night Win: Derrick Henry Shines with 199 Yards

The Baltimore Ravens put together a statement performance on Sunday night, handing the previously unbeaten Buffalo Bills their first loss of the season with a decisive 35-10 victory. Leading the charge was running back Derrick Henry, who electrified the crowd with a 199-yard rushing performance, punctuated by an 87-yard touchdown run that set the tone early. Alongside him, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson displayed his MVP-caliber play, accounting for three touchdowns—two through the air and one on the ground.

From the first snap, it was clear that Buffalo (3-1) had no answer for the Ravens’ (2-2) offensive attack. Henry wasted no time, taking his first handoff of the night and sprinting 87 yards to the end zone. It was the longest run in Baltimore’s 29-year history and a crushing blow for the Bills’ defense, who could never recover. Henry’s ability to dominate in prime time was reminiscent of his 2021 performance against Buffalo, when he rushed for 143 yards and three touchdowns while with the Tennessee Titans.

Lamar Jackson, the reigning two-time NFL MVP, was equally sharp. He completed 13 of 18 passes for 156 yards, including touchdown throws to Henry and running back Justice Hill. Jackson also added 54 yards rushing and scored a touchdown on the ground, putting Buffalo’s defense on its heels all night. Henry’s 5-yard touchdown reception from Jackson in the second quarter was his fourth career receiving touchdown, and his first since 2019.

The Ravens’ offense was methodical, racking up 427 total yards, while the defense stifled Buffalo’s high-powered attack, limiting the Bills to just 236 yards. Josh Allen and the Bills offense struggled to find any rhythm, as Allen completed just 18 of 35 passes for 207 yards with no touchdowns. The Ravens’ defense applied constant pressure, forcing hurried throws and preventing Buffalo from sustaining any meaningful drives.

Buffalo, which came into the game riding a three-game win streak, was overpowered from start to finish. Allen, normally a dual-threat quarterback, was held in check by a swarming Ravens defense that neutralized his ability to extend plays with his legs.

Henry’s 199-yard night, averaging 8.3 yards per carry, was the highlight of a performance that echoed his prime days with the Titans. His ability to punish defenses was on full display, and Baltimore rode his dominance to control the clock and keep Buffalo’s offense off the field. Henry’s performance in prime time has become a familiar storyline, as he continues to cement his legacy as one of the league’s premier running backs.

After the game, Ravens players expressed satisfaction with the win but emphasized the need to stay focused moving forward. “It’s a good win, but we’ve got a lot of season left,” said Jackson. “We can’t get ahead of ourselves. It’s all about continuing to get better every week.”

The loss drops Buffalo to 3-1 on the season, while Baltimore improves to 2-2 with the impressive victory. For the Ravens, this game could be the catalyst for a mid-season resurgence, as they look to build on the momentum of this dominant showing. For Buffalo, it’s back to the drawing board as they regroup after their first taste of defeat in the 2024 season.

With Henry and Jackson firing on all cylinders, the Ravens sent a clear message to the rest of the league: when their offense is clicking, they are a force to be reckoned with.
