This one is very hard to believe. If you hate the cops, this video is going to make you hate them even more. If you are a big “law & order” type, watch this body-cam video and tell me that they had to do things this way. Because, honestly, children and families watching Mr. Cheese go out with “bracelets” on is just not cool bruh. Here is the full story of the body-cam incident.
The incident went viral because so many had opinions on how the officers handled the whole arrest. It seems like it was treated as one big joke. And they didn’t have to go about the arrest the way they did. Even as they enter the arcade, they are laughing about how this is going to look, and one is even heard saying, “This is going to be epic.”

In July 2025, at a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant in Tallahassee, Florida, police responded to a report of credit card theft and fraud involving a customer’s debit card. Investigators say the card was fraudulently used after a family visited the restaurant for a child’s birthday party earlier that month.
It turns out that 41-year-old employee Jermell Jones (Chuck) was identified by the victim, who had obtained surveillance videos from several stores (appearing in her bank ledger), and showing him using her card.
When police arrived at the restaurant around 7 pm, they located Jones inside. Officers first spotted him outside wearing his regular clothes. They ask an employee if the same guy they saw outside, is now in the Chuck E. suit. Once inside, an officer approaches Jones in the mascot suit, saying, “Chuck E., come with me, Chuck E.” before placing him in handcuffs. They also get a little testy, as they feel he resisted by tensing his arms, but was eventually detained and escorted out of the restaurant while children and families watched.

Several patrons and social media posts said the arrest was upsetting to some children and parents, who questioned why it happened so publicly rather than more quietly.
Once they perp-walk Chuck out of the establishment, police reportedly found the victim’s credit card on him. Receipts linked to fraudulent charges were also found. There were even reports mentioning a small amount of marijuana found during the arrest.
He was booked into the Leon County Jail on felony charges including: credit card theft, criminal use of personal identification information and Fraudulent use of a credit card. Jones denied wrongdoing, reportedly telling officers he found the card and intended to turn it in. Jones later bonded out of jail after posting bail.
The arrest quickly went viral on social media, largely due to how unusual it looked. The beloved Chuck E. Cheese was being handcuffed in front of families, and it just didn’t pass the smell test.
Reactions chared by many, criticized the police for making the arrest so publicly. Others pointed out it was an arrest for an alleged crime, not a performance stunt. A few lighthearted pieces even jokingly dubbed him “Florida Man of the Year” because of how meme-worthy the situation was.
