Jail Contractors Busted For Having Sex With Inmate, Smuggling Cell Phones And Chicken Pot Pie Into The Jail

Fulton County Jail Corruption Scandal Leads to Arrests of Four Security Officers

Fulton County, Ga. — An ongoing corruption investigation at the Fulton County Jail has resulted in the arrest of four security officers employed by the contract security firm Strategic Security. The arrests follow a detailed probe that uncovered serious allegations of misconduct and corruption.

The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, which launched the investigation in May, confirmed that the officers involved have been terminated from their positions. Natalie Ammons, the Sheriff’s Office Director of Communications, clarified that although the officers were contractors rather than direct employees, they were terminated immediately following the investigation’s revelations.

The most shocking case involves Breasha Tate, who allegedly used a book with a hidden compartment to smuggle cell phones into the facility. According to records, Tate not only supplied six cell phones and other contraband to an inmate but also engaged in sexual activity with the inmate on three occasions. Tate reportedly received $1,682 in payments via Cash App from the inmate in exchange for the contraband.

Another officer, Regina Harris, faces three warrants related to allegations of smuggling a contraband cell phone into the jail. Laquna Ballard is accused of sending explicit photos and videos to an inmate and conspiring to introduce cigarettes and additional cell phones into the facility. The fourth officer, Anizya Silas, is charged with conspiring to smuggle a phone charger and providing unauthorized food, including a chicken pot pie, to an inmate.

“We can’t screen for integrity,” Ammons remarked, highlighting the challenges faced in preventing such breaches.

Sheriff Pat Labat expressed his disappointment and frustration with the situation. “These women unfortunately chose to be on the wrong side of the law by fraternizing with residents they were entrusted with watching over,” Labat said. “They will now have to face the consequences for the crimes they are accused of committing. Our employees and contractors alike are held to a high standard of integrity.”

The four officers were each granted bond; however, as of late Wednesday afternoon, only one of the individuals had posted bond. The investigation underscores ongoing concerns about corruption and the challenges of maintaining security and integrity within correctional facilities.

The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office has vowed to continue its efforts to root out corruption and ensure that all personnel, whether employees or contractors, adhere to the highest standards of conduct.
