Magic Rally from 17 Down, Edge Jazz 120–117 Behind Banchero and Bane

The Orlando Magic delivered another thrilling comeback at home Saturday night, rallying from a 17-point deficit to defeat the Utah Jazz 120–117 in a tightly contested matchup at Amway Center.

Paolo Banchero led Orlando with 23 points while stuffing the stat sheet with eight assists and seven rebounds, helping the Magic turn momentum in the second half after trailing by double digits earlier in the game. Desmond Bane added 22 points and delivered the decisive moment of the night, calmly knocking down two free throws with 28.3 seconds remaining to give Orlando a 118–117 lead.

Anthony Black continued his strong play with 21 points, providing a steady scoring presence as the Magic surged late to secure their second straight home victory after Thursday’s win over Brooklyn.

Utah was paced by Lauri Markkanen’s 27 points, while Jaren Jackson Jr. made an immediate impact in his Jazz debut following this week’s trade from Memphis. Jackson scored 22 points, including 17 in the first half, helping Utah build its early advantage. Isaiah Collier added 20 points for the Jazz.

The game also marked additional debuts for Utah, as John Konchar and Vince Williams Jr. saw their first action with the team after the trade. Meanwhile, Keyonte George returned to the lineup after missing three games with a sprained left ankle and finished with five points.

Despite the strong individual performances, Utah’s struggles continued. The Jazz have now lost two straight games and 18 of their last 22 contests.

Orlando’s resilience at home has been a bright spot, with the Magic showing the ability to close out tight games down the stretch.

The Jazz will look to bounce back Monday night when they travel to Miami, while the Magic remain home to host the Milwaukee Bucks on both Monday and Wednesday nights.
