Man Gunned Down in Biscayne Gardens: Miami-Dade Detectives Hunting for Suspect in Early Morning Homicide
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY – A deadly shooting rocked the Biscayne Gardens neighborhood of northeastern Miami-Dade early Tuesday morning, leaving a 38-year-old man dead and residents shaken. As of Tuesday evening, detectives with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (M-DSO) are still searching for the gunman.
Authorities identified the victim as Romainson Joseph, who was fatally shot just before 6 a.m. near the Mansion Townhouse Condominiums at Northeast 151 Street and Northeast Sixth Avenue, west of North Miami Beach.
First responders with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived at the scene but were unable to revive Joseph, who was pronounced dead near a row of townhomes adjacent to a black metal fence and a concrete dead end strewn with debris.
“This was not a high-crime area. We usually feel safe here,” said Sondrea Broomfield, a nearby resident. “I hope they do find out who did it.”
According to M-DSO spokesperson Detective Angel Rodriguez, Joseph was shot outside in the complex. The entrance to the community was quickly sealed off with police tape, and detectives began canvassing the area for witnesses and security footage.
Several women waiting at a bus stop outside the complex were visibly distraught, crying as they watched law enforcement work the scene. A bloodstain was visible on the pavement hours later, near a pile of trash — a haunting reminder of the violence that unfolded earlier that morning.
Detective Joseph R. Peguero Rivera, also with M-DSO, confirmed that investigators are seeking any surveillance footage from nearby homes or businesses that might help identify the shooter. He emphasized the importance of public cooperation in cases like this, where no arrests have been made and motive remains unclear.
“We urge anyone with information — even something that might seem minor — to come forward,” Rivera said. “If you have video, please share it. It could be the key to solving this case.”
Crime Stoppers is offering complete anonymity to anyone willing to provide tips that could help lead to an arrest. The public is encouraged to call 305-471-TIPS (8477).
This marks the latest in a string of violent incidents in Miami-Dade County, with law enforcement increasingly relying on community assistance to break cases in tight-knit residential neighborhoods.
As the investigation continues, residents remain on edge, hoping for answers and accountability.
