The Miami Heat delivered a scorching offensive performance Wednesday night, shooting a season-best 59% from the field and draining 23 three-pointers in a commanding 131-109 victory over the Atlanta Hawks.
Tyler Herro led the way with a double-double, scoring 24 points and dishing out 10 assists, while Duncan Robinson provided a spark off the bench with 24 points of his own. Davion Mitchell had a perfect night from deep, making all five of his three-point attempts on his way to 20 points, and Bam Adebayo added 20 points and nine rebounds.
Miami’s offensive dominance was fueled by exceptional ball movement, as the Heat registered 39 assists on 45 field goals. Their 23 made threes were just one shy of the franchise record, underscoring their efficiency from beyond the arc.
On the other end, the Hawks struggled defensively, allowing 65 points in the first half and 66 more in the second. Dyson Daniels led Atlanta with 18 points, while Trae Young and Caris LeVert each contributed 17.
Atlanta fell to 6-22 this season when allowing at least 120 points—a troubling trend for a team that has struggled defensively. The Hawks are significantly better when holding opponents under 120 points, boasting a 21-10 record in those games.
This game marked the start of a home-heavy schedule for Miami, with nine home games in a 10-game span and 14 in a 17-game stretch. Prior to Wednesday, the Heat had played just one home game in four weeks, enduring a grueling road-heavy stretch around the All-Star break.
Miami took control of the game with a 23-6 run to close the third quarter. After trailing by three, the Heat surged ahead to a 107-93 lead entering the final period, effectively sealing the outcome.
Miami’s 107 points through three quarters tied a franchise record, previously set on Feb. 6, 1991, against New Jersey and March 29, 2024, against Portland. The game also featured 200 total points through three quarters, the fourth-most in a Heat game.
The Hawks return home to face Western Conference-leading Oklahoma City on Friday. The Heat continue their homestand, hosting the Indiana Pacers on Friday.
