The Pro Football Hall of Fame welcomed five legendary figures into football immortality Saturday as the Class of 2026 was officially enshrined at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio.
The five-member class quarterback Drew Brees, wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, linebacker Luke Kuechly, kicker Adam Vinatieri and running back Roger Craig represents some of the most accomplished and influential players of their respective eras.
Each inductee left a unique mark on the NFL, from record-setting quarterbacks and receivers to dominant defenders, a clutch kicker and a running back who helped redefine what was possible from the position.
Drew Brees: A Champion in New Orleans
Drew Brees enters the Hall of Fame as one of the most prolific quarterbacks in NFL history.
Brees built a legendary career with the San Diego Chargers and, most notably, the New Orleans Saints, where he became the face of the franchise. His accuracy, preparation and leadership helped transform New Orleans into a perennial contender.
His greatest achievement came during the 2009 season when Brees led the Saints to their first Super Bowl championship. New Orleans defeated the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 in Super Bowl XLIV, with Brees earning Super Bowl MVP honors.
Brees was presented for enshrinement by his former Saints head coach, Sean Payton, adding another meaningful connection to a career defined by success in New Orleans.
Larry Fitzgerald: A Cardinals Icon
Larry Fitzgerald spent all 17 seasons of his NFL career with the Arizona Cardinals, becoming one of the most respected players in franchise history.
Known for his exceptional hands, route running and professionalism, Fitzgerald finished his career second all-time in NFL receiving yards. He was also a key figure during Arizona’s memorable run to Super Bowl XLIII following the 2008 season.
Fitzgerald’s longevity and consistency helped establish him among the greatest wide receivers the league has ever seen.
For his Hall of Fame presentation, Fitzgerald was introduced by his son, Devin Fitzgerald, making the occasion an especially personal moment for the Cardinals legend.
Luke Kuechly: Defensive Excellence
Luke Kuechly’s career may have been shorter than some of his fellow inductees, but his impact on the game was enormous.
The former Carolina Panthers linebacker quickly established himself as one of the NFL’s premier defensive players. Kuechly earned five First-Team All-Pro selections and became known for his intelligence, instincts, tackling ability and leadership.
Kuechly entered the Hall of Fame as its second-youngest inductee ever, an extraordinary distinction that reflects just how dominant he was during his time in the league.
His father, Tom, presented him for enshrinement, providing an emotional family connection during one of the biggest moments of Kuechly’s football life.
Adam Vinatieri: The Ultimate Clutch Kicker
Few players in NFL history are more synonymous with pressure-packed moments than Adam Vinatieri.
The longtime kicker became a legend with the New England Patriots before continuing his career with the Indianapolis Colts. Vinatieri won four Super Bowl championships and delivered some of the most memorable kicks in NFL history.
He remains the NFL’s all-time leading scorer, while his postseason success helped cement his reputation as one of the greatest clutch performers the sport has ever produced.
Vinatieri was presented by Colts owner and CEO Carlie Irsay-Gordon, marking another milestone in a remarkable career that spanned more than two decades.
Roger Craig: A Revolutionary Running Back
Roger Craig helped change the way football viewed the running back position.
A key member of the San Francisco 49ers dynasty, Craig was a three-time Super Bowl champion and one of the NFL’s most versatile offensive weapons. He could make an impact as both a runner and receiver, becoming one of the earliest elite dual-threat running backs.
Craig’s ability to contribute in multiple phases of the offense made him a prototype for the modern all-purpose running back.
His Hall of Fame presentation came from friend and former teammate Jamie Williams, adding another connection to Craig’s celebrated years with the 49ers.
The Class of 2026 brings together five players whose careers tell very different stories but share a common thread of excellence.
Brees represents quarterback precision and championship leadership. Fitzgerald symbolizes consistency and loyalty to one franchise. Kuechly embodied defensive intelligence and dominance. Vinatieri became the definition of clutch kicking, while Craig helped revolutionize the running back position.
