BIG3 Basketball @ Amerant Bank Arena in Miami
BIG3 basketball is a professional 3-on-3 league that started in 2017, created by Ice Cube and Jeff Kwatinetz. It differs from the NBA in several ways: it’s played on a half-court with three players per team, games go until a team scores 50 points, and the shot clock is shorter at 14 seconds. Meanwhile, the NBA is a full-court, five-on-five league with a longer season and a 24-second shot clock, giving it a more traditional, global basketball feel.
Some of the biggest stars in the BIG3 league include Joe Johnson, often considered the best player, who won MVP in both 2019 and 2021. Rashard Lewis, the league’s first MVP in 2017, was a key player for the 3-Headed Monsters. And Michael Beasley, with his NBA background, is a rising star as co-captain of Miami 305.
The Week 3 games are set for Sunday, July 5th, at Amerant Bank Arena in Miami. There are four matchups:
Game 1 is LA Riot vs. Boston Ball Hogs
Game 2 is Miami 305 vs. Chicago Triplets
Game 3 is DMV Trilogy vs. Houston Rig Hands
Game 4 is Dallas Power vs. Detroit Amps
