Suggs Records First Career Triple-Double as Magic Roll Past Nets 118–98

The Orlando Magic delivered a dominant all-around performance Thursday night, cruising to a 118–98 victory over the Brooklyn Nets behind a historic effort from guard Jalen Suggs and balanced scoring across the lineup.

Suggs recorded the first triple-double of his career, finishing with 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists in just 29 minutes of action. Playing in only his seventh game back after missing eight contests with a right knee injury, Suggs also made a major defensive impact with four blocked shots and three steals, helping Orlando control the game from start to finish.

Offensively, the Magic were led by Desmond Bane’s 23 points and Paolo Banchero’s 22, while Anthony Black added 18 points and five assists. Mo Wagner provided a spark off the bench, scoring 14 points and grabbing five rebounds in only 12 minutes as Orlando’s depth overwhelmed Brooklyn.

The Magic seized control early, building a 21-point lead in the first half and stretching the advantage to 26 points in the third quarter. Orlando’s efficient ball movement and defensive pressure kept the Nets from mounting any meaningful comeback.

Brooklyn’s young players provided the bright spots in an otherwise difficult night. Egor Demin scored a career-high 26 points, knocking down 6 of 10 from three-point range, while fellow rookie Nolan Traore matched his career high with 21 points and added seven assists. However, the Nets struggled elsewhere — particularly from leading scorer Michael Porter Jr., who shot just 2-for-13 and finished with nine points.

As a team, Brooklyn continued to struggle offensively. Entering the game as the NBA’s lowest-scoring team (107.1 points per game) and poorest shooting team (44.3%), the Nets shot 41.5% from the field and committed 19 turnovers. The loss marked their 15th defeat in the last 17 games.

Orlando, meanwhile, began a favorable stretch of the schedule strong, playing the first of four consecutive home games against teams with losing records.

The Nets return home to face the Washington Wizards on Saturday, while the Magic continue their homestand against the Utah Jazz.
