UCF Dominates TCU Behind Keyshawn Hall’s 26 Points in Big 12 Matchup

Big The UCF Knights secured their most dominant victory of the season on Saturday, routing the TCU Horned Frogs 85-58 in a Big 12 matchup. The wire-to-wire victory showcased a balanced effort from UCF (13-6, 4-4 Big 12), snapping a two-game skid against ranked opponents and setting the tone with a blistering 13-0 start fueled by Keyshawn Hall’s hot shooting.

Hall, who recently earned Big 12 Conference Newcomer of the Week honors after a career-high 40-point outing against Arizona State, continued his stellar play with 26 points. He opened the game with three early 3-pointers, sparking the Knights fast start and energizing the home crowd. Hall finished the night shooting 6 of 13 from the field, including 3 of 5 from beyond the arc, and converted an impressive 11 of 13 free throws.

“We knew we had to come out with energy after those tough losses,” Hall said. “Once we hit that first run, we didn’t let up.”

The Knights defense set the tone early, holding TCU (10-9, 3-5) scoreless for the first five minutes of the game. The Horned Frogs managed to cut the deficit to six, 25-19, midway through the first half after two free throws by Vasean Allette. However, UCF responded with an 11-0 run and never looked back. The Knights extended their lead steadily, ultimately matching their largest margin of 27 points by the games end.

Moustapha Thiam anchored UCF’s interior presence, contributing 16 points while swatting five shots. Jordan Ivy-Curry added a spark late, hitting three second-half 3-pointers and finishing with six rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Guard Darius Johnson chipped in 15 points and five assists, providing steady leadership throughout the game.

Despite the lopsided loss, TCU found a bright spot in Vasean Allette, who led the Horned Frogs with 15 points, five rebounds, and four assists. However, he was the only TCU player to reach double figures in scoring, as the team struggled to find offensive rhythm against UCF’s relentless defense.

UCF head coach Johnny Dawkins praised his teams collective effort after the game. “We played as a unit tonight,” Dawkins said. “Our guys were locked in defensively, and we moved the ball well on offense. It’s the kind of performance we need to replicate as we head into a tough stretch of games.”

The win gives UCF momentum as they prepare for a challenging road matchup against No. 12 Kansas on Tuesday. Meanwhile, TCU will aim to rebound when they visit Texas Tech on Wednesday.

With Hall continuing to shine and the Knights firing on all cylinders, UCF looks poised to make noise in the Big 12 as the season progresses.
