The United States men’s curling team continued its strong run at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics on February 15, holding off a determined comeback from Norway to secure a 10–8 victory in round-robin play. Skipped by Danny Casper, Team USA built an early cushion and then delivered under pressure in the final end to earn its third consecutive win of the tournament.
The Americans came out in control, executing precise shot-making and takeouts to jump to a commanding 5–0 lead through the opening ends. Norway gradually settled into the match and began chipping away at the deficit, capitalizing on scoring opportunities in the middle ends to even the contest and set up a tense finish.
With the game tied heading into the 10th end, Casper delivered the decisive moment. Facing Norwegian stones in scoring position, he executed a clutch runback on his final throw to clear the danger and secure two points for the United States, sealing the 10–8 win.
Team USA’s overall performance reflected both composure and consistency. The lineup of Casper, Luc Violette, Ben Richardson, and Aidan Oldenburg combined for 47 successful takeouts and finished with an impressive 84 percent team shooting accuracy. Their ability to control the early ends and respond to Norway’s rally proved critical in the outcome.
The victory improved the United States to 4–2 in the round-robin standings and strengthened its position in the race for a medal-round berth. It also marked a productive day for the American curling program, coming on the heels of another significant win against defending Olympic champion Sweden.
With momentum building and teamwork clicking at the right time, the U.S. men’s squad is positioning itself as a serious contender as the curling competition continues in Milano Cortina.
