Warriors Extend Winning Streak to Six Games With 120-100 Victory Over Heat

Golden State Warriors Stephen Curry Scores Twenty Nine Points

The Golden State Warriors continued their impressive turnaround Thursday night, extending their winning streak to six games with a convincing 120-100 victory over the Miami Heat. Stephen Curry scored 29 points, and Yaxel Lendeborg contributed 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists as Golden State improved its momentum after opening the season with three consecutive losses. Giannis Antetokounmpo led Miami with 20 points and 14 rebounds, while Davion Mitchell added 22 points and eight assists.

Bam Adebayo finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds, but the Heat couldn’t overcome a disastrous stretch in the third quarter that ultimately decided the game. Miami was outscored 26-9 during a crucial stretch of the third period, allowing Golden State to take control and build a lead the Heat couldn’t overcome. The Warriors also received a strong contribution from Draymond Green, who recorded a season-high 11 assists, while Georges Niang provided 13 points off the bench.

Curry Finds His Rhythm as Warriors Pull Away

Curry had an uncharacteristically slow start, making just one of his first eight shots and going 2-for-10 from the field by halftime. However, the Golden State superstar found his shooting touch in the third quarter, helping the Warriors create separation. Curry finished 9-for-19 from the floor, including six 3-pointers, narrowly missing his fourth consecutive game with at least 30 points. He sat out the closing minutes after Golden State had put the game out of reach.

Curry also reached another milestone during the opening quarter. His 3-pointer at the 7:03 mark moved him into 17th place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list, passing Oscar Robertson, who finished his career with 26,710 points. Golden State finished 16-for-41 from beyond the arc, shooting 39% from 3-point range against a Miami team that has made defending the perimeter a major priority.

Thompson Returns to Golden State Against Former Team

The game also featured an emotional reunion as former Warriors star Klay Thompson returned to face his former team. Thompson received a warm ovation from the Golden State crowd before tipoff and finished with 11 points on 3-for-10 shooting. The appearance came one night after Thompson delivered the game-winning 3-pointer with one second remaining in overtime of Miami’s 117-116 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.

Andrew Wiggins also faced his former Golden State teammates, but struggled offensively. The Heat forward finished with just two points on 1-for-6 shooting, along with six rebounds and four assists. Thursday’s matchup marked the third stop on Miami’s five-game West Coast road trip, and the Heat will look to regroup after struggling to contain Golden State’s offense.

Up Coming NBA Games for the Heat and Warriors

The Heat will continue their West Coast road trip Sunday with a visit to Sacramento as they look to bounce back from the 20-point defeat. The Warriors return home Saturday night to host the Orlando Magic, looking to make it seven consecutive victories and continue building on their impressive turnaround. Golden State also recognized the late Jason Collins on Pride Night. Former Warriors assistant coach and Stanford standout Jarron Collins attended the game as the organization honored his late twin brother.
