Title: Tempe Wells Fargo Employee Found Dead After Days in Office Cubicle

Tempe, AZDenise Prudhomme, a 60-year-old employee of Wells Fargo, was discovered deceased in her cubicle on August 20, four days after she was last seen entering the office, according to local police.

Prudhomme, who worked at the bank’s office located at 1100 West Washington Street, had last scanned into the building at 7 a.m. on August 16. There were no subsequent entries or exits recorded on the office’s security system after that time.

The Tempe Police Department was alerted to the situation by on-site security who had grown concerned after employees noticed an unpleasant odor emanating from Prudhomme’s workspace. An employee found her unresponsive in her cubicle during a routine check of the area.

Prudhomme was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:55 p.m. Police indicated that there were no initial signs of foul play, but the cause of death is still pending determination by the Maricopa County medical examiner.

The circumstances surrounding how Prudhomme remained unnoticed for several days remain unclear. NBC affiliate KPNX reported that her cubicle was located on the third floor, away from the main traffic areas, which may have contributed to the delay in discovering her condition.

An employee who spoke anonymously to KPNX mentioned that a number of colleagues had reported smelling a foul odor earlier, but it was initially attributed to faulty plumbing in the building.

Wells Fargo issued a statement expressing deep sadness over Prudhomme’s death and affirmed that they are reviewing internal procedures to address the situation. “We are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague, Denise Prudhomme. Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones, and we are in contact to ensure they are well supported during this difficult time,” the statement read.

The company also mentioned that counselors have been made available to employees and that they have been informed of the tragic event following notification of Prudhomme’s family.

The investigation into the cause of Prudhomme’s death is ongoing, with police continuing to gather information to understand the full circumstances of the case.
