Jon Jones defended his light heavyweight title for the fifth time when he faced Chael Sonnen at UFC 159 in 2013.

Sonnen was unable to mount any significant offense and eventually succumbed to a TKO in the first round. The victory was Jon Jones’ fifth consecutive title defense and cemented his status as one of the greatest fighters in UFC history. Chael Sonnen, meanwhile, continued to be a popular figure in the sport despite the loss and went on to compete in several more high-profile fights before retiring in 2019.
