He also faced criticism for comments he made about women, including calling TV host Alexis Stewart “c*nty” and referring to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton as “the biggest white whores in America.”

In 2020, Carlson faced calls for boycotts after he defended a 17-year-old who shot and killed two people during protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He was also criticized for promoting conspiracy theories related to the COVID-19 pandemic and for downplaying the severity of the January 6th Capitol insurrection.

Despite the controversies, Carlson remains a popular figure on the political right, with his former show regularly ranked among the most-watched cable news programs in the United States.
