Early this morning, February 2, 2021, a shootout was held between the FBI and the person of interest during their case in Sunrise, Florida. According to reports, there may be up to two agents killed while other agents are also facing life-threatening injuries.

 

Suspected Child Exploitation

 

Around 6 A.M. the officers were exercising a warrant at the Water Terrace apartment complex in Sunrise, Florida. This city is just 10 miles away from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

This warrant was served in order to investigate someone with suspicion of being involved in child pornography. Upon arrival, the streets were closed off due to a heavy police presence.

 

Shootout Begins

 

The suspect proceeded to barricade himself prior to firing on the agents.  Two separate officers are currently in grave danger and were rushed away in an ambulance with the help of paramedics.

Around 9 A.M. the streets were no longer a war zone, and the investigation is ongoing. The suspect has reportedly committed suicide and there is no longer any shooting happening in the area of 4200 Nob Hill Rd. According to law enforcement agents, there may be two agents that were killed.

 

Response Team

 

The medical response team has supposedly brought the injured back to Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. According to sources officers from the areas of Sunrise, Fort Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines, Davie, Miramar, Lauderhill and Pembroke Pines all surrounded the area of the shootout in response.

The Water Terrace apartment complex is a highly regarded gated community in the Sunrise, Florida area. It isn’t clear as to what exactly the condition the of the FBI agents who were injured in the shooting. Residents were told to remain in their homes while the investigation team conducts their business.
