Discovery in Colorado
On February 23, 2025, deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado responded to a burglary-in-progress call at a vacant home for sale in Highlands Ranch. The homeowner, monitoring security cameras remotely, reported suspicious activity. Upon arrival, deputies found two children in a vehicle outside the property and encountered a man and a woman exiting the home. The adults initially claimed to be associated with a realtor, but inconsistencies in their stories prompted further investigation.
Identification and Arrests
Through persistent efforts, deputies identified the woman as Rabia Khalid, who had an active warrant related to her son’s 2017 disappearance. The teenage boy in the vehicle was confirmed to be Abdul Aziz Khan, now 14 years old. The man accompanying Khalid was identified as Elliot Blake Bourgeois. Both Khalid and Bourgeois were arrested on charges including second-degree kidnapping, forgery, identity theft, providing false information to authorities, and trespassing.
