Man Behind Bars Following Double Shooting Outside Popular Boca Raton Restaurant

Arrest Made in Downtown Boca Raton Shooting

A South Florida man is behind bars after Boca Raton police announced an arrest in connection with a double shooting that occurred outside a popular downtown restaurant during Memorial Day weekend. Authorities identified the suspect as 24 year old Christian Ippolito of Lantana, who was taken into custody following an investigation into the violent incident that left two people injured.

What Happened

According to investigators, the shooting occurred shortly after 12:30 a.m. on May 25 outside The Standard Cuisine & Cocktails in Royal Palm Plaza. Police said an argument broke out between Ippolito and a man he knew before the confrontation escalated. During the dispute, authorities allege that Ippolito pulled out a handgun and fired multiple shots.

One of the bullets struck the intended victim in the chest, causing serious injuries. A second round traveled into the restaurant and struck another patron in the leg. Emergency responders transported both victims to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Victims Recovering

Police said the man who suffered the chest wound survived the shooting and was listed in stable condition following medical treatment. The second victim, who was struck in the leg, received treatment and was later released from the hospital. Authorities have not publicly released the names of either victim.

Charges Filed

Following their investigation, Boca Raton detectives arrested Ippolito on June 3. He is facing two counts of attempted second degree murder with a firearm and one count of shooting into an occupied building. Jail records show he remains in custody at the Palm Beach County Jail.

Investigation Continues

The shooting drew significant attention because it occurred in one of Boca Raton’s busiest nightlife and dining districts during a crowded holiday weekend. Investigators collected evidence from the scene, including shell casings, and interviewed witnesses as they worked to identify and locate the suspect.

Boca Raton police have not announced any additional arrests and say the investigation remains active. Authorities continue to review evidence and are asking anyone with information related to the shooting to contact investigators. For South Florida residents and visitors, the arrest marks a major development in a case that raised concerns about public safety in one of Palm Beach County’s most popular entertainment destinations.
