‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ Sequel
More than 20 years after Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey turned a disastrous dating bet into one of the most beloved romantic comedies of the 2000s, “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” is officially heading back into development.
A sequel to the 2003 romantic comedy is in the works, with Hudson attached as a producer. The project is being developed at Paramount, giving fans of Andie Anderson and Benjamin Barry a reason to revisit the possibility of another chapter in their complicated love story.
Hudson starred as Andie, a magazine writer who agrees to intentionally drive a man away as part of an assignment. McConaughey played Benjamin, an advertising executive who makes a bet that he can convince a woman to fall in love with him in just 10 days.
Neither realizes the other is playing a game.
What follows is a series of increasingly outrageous attempts to sabotage the relationship, including Andie’s deliberately over-the-top behavior and Benjamin’s determination to stay with her long enough to win his bet.
The two eventually discover that their relationship has become something more than either of them expected.
Kate Hudson Returns Behind the Scenes
The sequel represents a new role for Hudson, who is attached to produce the project in addition to her connection to the original film.
The move also gives Hudson an opportunity to help shape how the story could continue more than two decades after audiences first met Andie and Benjamin.
