Inter Miami CF Earns Thrilling 3-3 Draw Against Philadelphia Union at Subaru Park

In a dramatic Saturday night clash at Subaru Park, Inter Miami CF battled back from a two-goal deficit to earn a spirited 3-3 draw with the Eastern Conference-leading Philadelphia Union. A stoppage-time equalizer from substitute Telasco Segovia capped off a resilient performance by the visitors, who refused to quit despite a challenging first half.

Philadelphia Union took control early, striking first in the 7th minute. A short corner routine caught Miami’s defense off guard, allowing Quinn Sullivan space at the edge of the box. Sullivan turned and curled a precise effort past Óscar Ustari to give the hosts an early 1-0 lead. They doubled their advantage just before halftime when Israeli international Tai Baribo pounced from close range, capitalizing on a breakdown in Miami’s defensive shape to make it 2-0.

Inter Miami, however, emerged from the break with renewed urgency. In the 60th minute, patient buildup transitioned into a swift attack. Tomás Avilés initiated the move with a line-breaking run, playing it wide to Jordi Alba. The Spanish fullback quickly fed Noah Allen down the left wing. Allen delivered a pinpoint cross to Tadeo Allende, who rose above the defense to nod home and cut the deficit to 2-1.

Philadelphia seemed to regain control in the 72nd minute, when a deflected ball fell kindly to Baribo at the far post. The striker made no mistake, calmly slotting in his second goal of the night to restore the two-goal cushion at 3-1.

In the 87th minute, Lionel Messi delivered a moment of magic, curling in a spectacular free kick to pull Inter Miami within one. Then, in the dying moments of stoppage time, Messi once again played the role of playmaker, finding Venezuelan midfielder Telasco Segovia at the top of the box. Segovia took on a defender, created space, and rifled a stunning shot into the top corner to complete the comeback at 3-3.

It was a performance full of grit and quality from Inter Miami, who showed character and composure to claw back against a top-tier opponent on the road.

Scorers:

  • PHI: Quinn Sullivan (7’), Tai Baribo (44’, 72’)
