Island Boy Franky Venegas Arrested Again on Drug Charges in Florida

Island Boy Franky Venegas Arrested Again as Fentanyl Allegations Pile Up in Florida

Another arrest. Another drug-related headline. Another reminder that viral fame does not insulate anyone from real-world consequences. Franky Venegas, one half of the viral rap duo Island Boys, was arrested in southwest Florida just days before New Year’s Eve after deputies allegedly discovered fentanyl residue and unprescribed medication during a traffic stop in Naples. Venegas, 24, was taken into custody in Collier County and booked on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held without bond on a mandatory 24-hour hold, according to reporting first published by TMZ.

“Police opted to search the car due to the occupants’ behavior during the stop,” according to a sheriff’s report cited in the outlet.

What Police Say They Found

According to law enforcement documents, Venegas was driving with a female passenger when deputies initiated what was described as a routine traffic stop. Officers then conducted a search of the vehicle, where they allegedly found:

• A bag containing unprescribed Zolpidem tartrate (commonly known as Ambien)
• Additional pills prescribed to the female passenger
• A cut straw that allegedly tested positive for fentanyl
• Venegas’ debit card, which police say was coated in fentanyl residue

The woman in the vehicle was also arrested and booked for possession of the unprescribed medication. Venegas reportedly denied ownership of the pills and claimed he had a prescription he could not present at the time. No disposition has been reached. As with all criminal cases, Venegas is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.

Why He Was Held Without Bond

The 24-hour hold was not incidental. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Venegas was already out on bond from a February arrest involving a firearm with an altered serial number, which triggered the no-bond hold under Florida procedures. That earlier case also involved alleged narcotics, though the drug charge in that incident was later dropped. During that February stop, police say officers pulled over a yellow Corvette for a traffic violation and allegedly discovered suspected oxycodone on the passenger-side floorboard, along with a spray-painted handgun missing a serial number.

A Growing Rap Sheet Since Viral Fame

Venegas, also known as Kodiyakredd, exploded into the public eye in 2021 alongside his twin brother Alex Venegas after their song I’m an Island Boy went viral across social media. Since then, his legal issues have mounted. Public records and prior reporting show arrests or charges tied to domestic battery, reckless driving, and driving without a license, a pattern that has increasingly overshadowed the duo’s music career. What started as internet novelty fame has steadily morphed into a string of police blotter headlines.

Millions on OnlyFans, Arrests in Real Life

The arrest also comes shortly after the twins publicly bragged about the money they earned from a highly controversial OnlyFans stunt, a video in which the brothers kissed each other to generate attention and subscriptions. At an MMA promotional event last year, Venegas claimed the stunt earned him millions. Later interviews pegged the figure at $6 million for him and $8 million for his brother, according to LadBible. Venegas later admitted the move was driven by financial desperation.

“I didn’t want to do the kissing thing,” he said on The Wild Podcast. “I only had $40,000 to my name.”

This latest arrest underscores a familiar arc in internet celebrity culture: rapid fame, massive cash infusions, and little structure to manage either. Venegas’ case now involves fentanyl, a drug at the center of one of the deadliest public health crises in U.S. history. Even trace residue tied to paraphernalia can escalate legal consequences dramatically under Florida law. For the Island Boys, the question is no longer whether they can shock the internet. It’s whether they can avoid self-destruction off-camera.
