Billboard-Charting Producer jigitz Unveils Debut EP
Emerging from a five-year musical hiatus, viral dance music producer jigitz has returned to the spotlight with his highly anticipated debut EP, “all my exes live in brooklyn,” released via R&R on July 25. The eight-track project blends breakbeat, future garage, ambient textures, and house rhythms into a genre-fluid journey of emotion, movement, and personal storytelling.
Known for his unconventional approach to music and art, jigitz isn’t just another name in the electronic music scene. The Albuquerque native turned NYC-based artist has crafted a name for himself through his boundary-pushing visuals, DIY ethos, ballerina-infused performances, and unexpected venue choices, such as a Chinese restaurant pop-up set in Los Angeles. With his new EP, he reintroduces himself as a deeply creative and vulnerable force in the electronic scene.
From Viral Star to Creative Storyteller
Though jigitz debuted back in 2018, he didn’t begin turning heads globally until early 2025 with the viral hit “tell you straight,” which racked up over 27 million Spotify streams and spawned remixes by Louis The Child, Ely Oaks, Badger, Killen., and INJI. The track spent multiple weeks on the Billboard Dance Chart and recently re-entered the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, solidifying jigitz’s place as one of the most intriguing new voices in the genre.
Despite that momentum, jigitz didn’t rush into releasing an EP. Instead, he retreated into creative isolation to find his true voice. What followed was a deeply personal process, one that involved renting an F-150, heading to remote Montana with his manager and best friend, and collaborating with fellow producer Aire Atlantica. Together, they recorded the entire EP using borrowed boots, roadside cowboy culture as ambiance, and a pair of Best Buy speakers (which they later returned).
“Everything about Emigrant, Montana felt cowboy-coded: the rented F-150, the dusty bar TVs flickering rodeos in the background while we made dance music,” said jigitz. “It was the first time I worked with another producer, and it felt like Aire became part of the jigitz band for a moment.”
A Sonic Diary of Love and Movement
“all my exes live in brooklyn” takes listeners on an emotional ride through love, nostalgia, and healing. The EP opens with “leave,” a dreamy, cinematic cut that eases listeners into jigitz’s soundscape. This seamlessly flows into the standout viral track “tell you straight,” followed by high-energy offerings like “dollaz n dollaz,” which fuses sultry hip-hop elements with festival-ready drops.
The record closes with “free myself,” a track that reflects emotional vulnerability through euphoric melodies and aching basslines. Each song is treated as a chapter in jigitz’s personal journal—musical moments that blur the lines between club euphoria and introspective storytelling.
Lyrically and sonically, the EP fuses jigitz’s childhood love for ‘90s country (hence the nod to George Strait in the EP’s title) with the emotional depth of ambient textures and the raw energy of house music.
Aesthetic Vision and Live Artistry
What separates jigitz from many of his peers is his dedication to immersive live experiences. His signature “in-the-round” boiler room-style DJ sets often feature live ballerinas, including recurring collaborator and Rockette Paige Litle. These sets have become a signature component of the jigitz brand, blending choreography and beats to offer a multisensory experience.
jigitz’s TikTok moment—a viral video of one of these sets—skyrocketed his social media following and positioned him as a fresh creative force. But he hasn’t stopped at traditional clubs or festivals. He has hosted guerrilla shows at venues as unconventional as LA’s Fu’s Palace Chinese restaurant, reinforcing his offbeat approach to performance and fan connection.

A Growing Tour Footprint
To celebrate the release of the EP, jigitz is embarking on a major North American tour, including festival performances and headlining club dates in over 20 cities. Highlights include sets at Lollapalooza in Chicago, Splash House in Palm Springs, and a climactic night at Webster Hall in New York City.
Tour Dates Include:
- Aug 03 – Lollapalooza – Chicago, IL
- Oct 18 – Webster Hall – New York, NY
- Nov 08 – Don Quixote – Los Angeles, CA
- Nov 14 – ZeyZey – Miami, FL
- And many more…
This tour will offer fans a chance to see his immersive performances up close, complete with visuals, ballerinas, and the genre-defying sound that has made jigitz one of 2025’s breakout acts.
Reclaiming the Narrative
In a time when the electronic music landscape is often driven by fast-paced singles and fleeting TikTok trends, jigitz is a reminder that storytelling, artistic experimentation, and emotional resonance still matter. His background in the music industry (having worked at several labels) gives him a unique lens into the mechanics of hype versus longevity—and he’s betting on the latter.
“all my exes live in brooklyn” is more than just a debut project; it’s a mission statement. It establishes jigitz as a multi-dimensional artist capable of transforming sound into something cinematic, deeply personal, and defiantly unconventional.
