A small jet carrying retired NASCAR champion Greg Biffle, his wife, and their two children crashed and burst into flames Thursday morning at Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina, killing all seven people aboard, authorities confirmed.

Video footage released shows the Cessna C550 aircraft exploding into a fireball as it skidded along the runway while attempting to land. The plane had departed shortly after 10 a.m. local time and turned back to the airport minutes later.
