I don’t know if this is what they refer to as “irony”, but if it is not, can someone please comment and tell me what the word for this is? Either way, it is definitely entertaining to read when stupid people do stupid things. And this here is no exception to the rule.
Here is a clear-cut example of this…Flaaaawda style.
This past Thursday, body-camera footage from police in Orange County shows the traffic stop of world-renowned Olympian Sha’Carri Richardson on State Road 429 in Winter Garden, where deputies said she was pulled over for excessive speeding.
A deputy observed Richardson, 25, driving an Aston Martin (classy) at speeds exceeding 100mph in a 65mph zone, flashing her lights to force other drivers out of her way, and making unsafe lane changes, according to the arrest affidavit.

Body-cam footage shows the officer telling Richardson,
“You’re driving 104 miles an hour in a 65-mile-an-hour zone with sub-par equipment, flashing people to get out of your lane, following too close, using every lane to pass everybody, cutting me off, passing a car on the inside shoulder with their hazard lights on. You’re going to jail for dangerous, excessive speeding.”
The track star can be heard in the video apologizing profusely,
“I did not mean to do that. My phone, I didn’t even know my car was speeding.”
Despite her pleas, the deputy told her,
“That’s why they give you a speedometer. Nothing you say is going to change that. You’re going to jail.”
Now here is where things take a turn for the stupid!
During the traffic stop, Richardson told the deputy her back tire was underinflated (smooth move), which she said contributed to her speeding. (One would think that means to go slower)
Richardson’s excessive-speeding charge stems from a new Florida law passed last year that makes it a criminal offense to drive at 100 mph or more in a manner that endangers people or property.
Then, minutes after Richardson’s stop, deputies said track star Christian Coleman, identified as her boyfriend, arrived at the scene in a black Jeep. According to an arrest affidavit, Coleman was cited for stopping on a limited-access roadway, refused to comply with officers’ instructions, and was arrested for resisting without violence.
Wait, it gets better…
During the search of Coleman’s vehicle, deputies said they found a glass smoking device with residue consistent with cannabis use. The device was collected as evidence and led to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, the affidavit states.

OK. Maybe, you don’t watch much track and field. Who does? You might wonder, who is this person? Is she any good? Is she as fast as her Aston Martin?
Sha’Carri Richardson is a talented American sprinter known for her speed and vibrant personality. She specializes in the 100- and 200-meter events. Richardson gained significant attention during the 2019 and 2021 seasons, breaking records and winning titles. She made headlines for her performance at the 2021 U.S. Olympic Trials, where she ran a blazing 10.86 seconds in the 100 meters.
She did have an earlier controversy that kept her out of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Richardson was suspended because she tested positive for THC. She admitted that she used it to cope with the loss of her biological mother. The suspension ended up making her ineligible for the 100 meters at the Tokyo Olympics, even though she did compete in other events later on. It was definitely a big moment in the world of track and field.
What about her medals? Has she actually won any? Sha’Carri Richardson has won several medals in different competitions. For instance, at the 2019 Pan American Games, she won gold in the 100 meters. She also claimed gold in the 4×100 meters relay at the 2019 World Championships. In addition, she earned gold at the 2021 U.S. Olympic Trials for the 100 meters. She’s also earned various medals in other international meets and national championships.
Some of her social media posts sparked attention mainly because of her bold and unapologetic personality. For instance, she sometimes responded directly to critics or made statements that emphasized her confidence and her individuality. There were moments where she addressed criticisms head-on, and that definitely fueled some discussions online. Overall, it was more about her strong personality and the way she engaged with her audience and critics alike. Bottom line...she likes to talk shit, and doesn't like taking shit. I know a bunch of people like that, so it is what it is. At the end of the day, she runs fast and she drives fast. She obviously won't do any jail time, but she did have her name dragged through the mud for a bit.
