Who Was Reggie McFadden?
Reggie McFadden was born in Brooklyn, New York, on November 30, 1968. He began his career as a stand-up comedian before becoming a familiar face on television during the 1990s. McFadden gained national attention after appearing on “Def Comedy Jam,” the HBO comedy series that helped launch and showcase many prominent Black comedians. His stand-up career eventually brought him to Los Angeles, where he continued pursuing opportunities in television and film.
His Time On “In Living Color”
One of McFadden’s best-known credits was “In Living Color.” He joined the cast during the show’s fifth and final season, which aired from 1993 to 1994. McFadden appeared in 23 episodes of the sketch comedy series. The show, created by Keenen Ivory Wayans, became one of the most recognizable comedy programs of the 1990s and featured a large cast of comedians and performers.

McFadden continued working in television and film throughout his career. His television credits included appearances on “Martin,” “Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper,” “Coach,” “Moesha,” “Getting Personal” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” He also appeared in movies including “Jacob’s Ladder” and “Little Nicky.” In 1998, he received his own episode of “Comedy Central Presents,” highlighting his work as a stand-up comedian. McFadden also appeared on “The Late Show With David Letterman” during his comedy career.
McFadden Later Lived In Tanzania
Later in his life, McFadden moved to Tanzania, where he lived for approximately 18 years. He continued pursuing creative and business projects while living overseas. McFadden was involved with Olduvai Records and also released music. His album “ENJOY, Vol. 1” was released in 2025.
