Sabrina Carpenter Protective Order
Pop star Sabrina Carpenter has obtained a temporary restraining order against a man she alleges stalked her for weeks and attempted to gain access to her home, according to court filings in Los Angeles. The legal action follows a series of incidents that Carpenter says left her fearing for her safety and concerned that the situation was escalating beyond unwanted contact.
Alleged Stalking Campaign Escalated Over Several Weeks
According to court documents, Carpenter filed for protection after alleging that a 31 year old man repeatedly appeared at her residence, trespassed onto neighboring properties, and attempted to bypass security measures to reach her home. She stated that the incidents occurred over more than a month and became increasingly alarming as the man allegedly continued returning despite being confronted and removed from the property.
Carpenter told the court that surveillance footage captured the man approaching her residence and attempting to open doors while lingering on the property. She alleged that when questioned by security personnel, the individual falsely claimed to know her personally and said he had been invited to the home. Carpenter stated that those claims were entirely untrue.
Police Intervention Failed to End Encounters
Authorities were called during one of the incidents, leading to the man’s arrest on suspicion of trespassing. However, according to Carpenter’s filing, he allegedly returned to the area shortly after the arrest and continued appearing near the property. She told the court that the repeated encounters caused significant emotional distress and created ongoing concerns about her personal security.
Court records indicate Carpenter believes the alleged stalker was monitoring activity around her residence and attempting to maintain contact despite having no legitimate relationship with her. She argued that the repeated visits demonstrated a pattern of behavior rather than isolated incidents.
Judge Grants Temporary Protection
A Los Angeles judge approved a temporary restraining order requiring the man to remain away from Carpenter, her residence, her vehicle, her workplace, and members of her immediate family. The order is expected to remain in effect until a future court hearing where a judge will determine whether a longer term protective order should be issued.
In her declaration, Carpenter wrote that she feared for her safety and believed legal intervention was necessary to prevent further contact. Court filings indicate she viewed the alleged behavior as increasingly unpredictable and potentially dangerous.
Growing Security Concerns for Public Figures
The case highlights a broader issue faced by entertainers and public figures who often contend with stalking, harassment, and security threats. Security experts have long warned that repeated unwanted contact, trespassing incidents, and attempts to gain access to private residences can be indicators of escalating fixation behavior.
For Carpenter, whose profile has grown significantly following chart topping music releases, sold out tours, and major acting projects, the restraining order represents an effort to establish legal boundaries and protect her privacy. A hearing later this month will determine whether the temporary protections become permanent.
