Some Guys Take Viagra or a Blue Chew… When All They Need is to Be Bitten By the Brazilian Wandering Spider

Erectile Dysfunction is a real problem. Especially in the US. So much so that it has become a BILLION DOLLAR industry globally! Don’t believe me? Check this out.

The global erectile dysfunction drug market is currently valued at about 2.9 billion US dollars as of 2024, and it’s expected to grow to roughly 4.9 billion by 2030. Viagra, or sildenafil, still leads the market, holding about 57% of the share, and North America accounts for over half of the global market. Growth is driven by aging populations, more lifestyle diseases, and wider access through telemedicine, but competition from generics and other factors still shape the landscape.

But who knew that all you had to do was go to Brazil and get bitten by a spider? Well, a certain kind of spider. Not just any spider. This spider is known as the Givus Erectus. LOL….no, that is not what it is called. And actually, you probably don’t want to get bitten by one of these guys.

Who is this Spider?

What I am referring to is the Brazilian wandering spider, aka the Phoneutria spider. Its venom can cause a condition called priapism, which is a prolonged and painful erection. If not treated, it can be life-threatening due to a lack of blood flow. It’s a really rare case, but it’s definitely one of the most infamous spider bites out there.

The venom of the Brazilian wandering spider contains neurotoxins that can affect the body in a bunch of ways, causing pain, increased heart rate, and sometimes difficulty breathing. But the priapism happens because the venom disrupts normal blood flow regulation. Basically, it triggers a cascade of events in your vascular system, leading to this prolonged erection. If it goes untreated, it can cut off the blood supply to other organs, and that’s when it can be life-threatening. So, it’s really crucial to get medical help immediately if you suspect a bite. DON’T GO AND HAVE SEX!!!!!!

When Did They Notice This Happening?

The effect of the Brazilian wandering spider venom on prolonged erections was first noticed in Brazil before the 2000s, when doctors observed men bitten by the spider developing priapism. Later, in the mid-2000s, researchers isolated a peptide toxin called Tx2-6, which triggered erections in lab animals by boosting nitric oxide signaling. This sparked drug development, and a synthetic version called PnPP-19 was later shown to improve erections in rodents, with early human trials underway, though a full treatment is still years away. Makes sense. There has to be a way to harness the power of this spider on a lower, safer level, right?

Yes, it’s true. Researchers are looking at the neurotoxins in the Brazilian wandering spider because they cause a prolonged erection, known as priapism, by increasing nitric oxide in the body. Animal studies show that a synthetic version of this toxin can help restore erectile function in cases of dysfunction, and some human clinical trials are already underway exploring these effects.

Currently, there’s no approved treatment on the market based on the Brazilian wandering spider’s toxins, but research is making progress. Scientists have isolated a synthetic peptide derived from the venom, which improved erectile function in animal studies with fewer side effects. A Brazilian company now holds patents and is conducting early human trials, but it still needs to prove safety, efficacy, and market viability before reaching consumers.

Right now, there’s no approved treatment on the market based on the Brazilian wandering spider’s toxins, but research is progressing. Scientists have developed a synthetic peptide from the venom that restored erectile function in animal studies and is now in early human safety trials. However, the timeline for full approval is still uncertain, as further clinical trials and regulatory steps are needed.

Watch how the sales of this go through the roof the moment they perfect a drug with this ingredient or peptide copy. And guys will no longer want to be called Superman in bed, but Spiderman instead!!!
