Sensabaugh’s Clutch Three Lifts Jazz Past Heat, 115–111

The Utah Jazz rallied late to defeat the Miami Heat 115–111 on Monday night, with Brice Sensabaugh delivering the decisive moment by knocking down a go-ahead 3-pointer with 47 seconds remaining.

Utah trailed 108–103 with 3:32 left but closed the game with poise. Isaiah Collier’s jumper cut the deficit to one at 111–110 with 1:23 to play, setting the stage for Sensabaugh’s clutch shot from beyond the arc. After Miami missed two chances to regain the lead — Andrew Wiggins on a short jumper with 36 seconds left and Kasparas Jakucionis on a corner three in the final seconds — Sensabaugh sealed the win with two free throws with three seconds remaining.

Jaren Jackson Jr., recently acquired in a Feb. 3 trade with Memphis, led the Jazz with 22 points. Lauri Markkanen added 17 points, while Kyle Filipowski recorded 16 points and 11 rebounds. Ace Bailey also scored 16, and Sensabaugh finished with 14 points as Utah earned just its fifth victory in the last 23 games.

Despite sitting Markkanen and Jackson for the entire fourth quarter for the second consecutive game, Jazz coach Will Hardy’s rotation held off Miami down the stretch. Jusuf Nurkic contributed 10 points and 16 rebounds before also sitting out the final period. Utah controlled the interior throughout the contest, outscoring Miami 54–30 in the paint.

The Jazz overcame an early deficit after falling behind by 15 midway through the first quarter. They surged late in the first half, closing on a 14–2 run capped by Collier’s buzzer-beating 3-pointer to take a 61–52 lead into halftime. Utah held an 85–82 advantage after three quarters before Miami briefly seized control in the fourth.

Wiggins led the Heat with 26 points, while Bam Adebayo posted 23 points and 11 rebounds. Jakucionis added 20 points in the loss. Miami was shorthanded, playing without Norman Powell (back tightness), Pelle Larsson (right forearm strain), and Tyler Herro, who has been sidelined since Jan. 17 with a rib injury.

The Jazz return home to host Sacramento on Wednesday night, while the Heat travel to New Orleans for their next matchup.
