In a new interview with Variety published on Aug. 3, the 23-year-old singer said protecting her relationships from public scrutiny has become a priority as her career continues to grow. “I Try to Keep My Relationships Sacred”
“I try to keep my relationships as sacred and private as possible,” McRae said during the interview. “I love the people in my life. They love me. You just try to keep that circle as positive and supportive as possible.”
The “Greedy” singer acknowledged that speculation from fans and social media is unavoidable, but she said she refuses to let outside opinions consume her attention.
“The outside noise, I can’t do anything about that,” she said. “Focusing my energy on something that I can’t control, it just puts me in a bad mood.”
Her comments come as rumors continue to circulate that she is dating Hughes after the pair were first linked in late 2025.
