Former Air Force Nuclear Guard Claims Non-Human Entities Accessed U.S. Missile Site to Prevent Nuclear War
A former U.S. Air Force security guard assigned to a Minuteman nuclear missile facility has resurfaced with one of the most disturbing and detailed alleged UFO encounters connected to America’s nuclear weapons infrastructure. In an interview highlighted by researcher Jesse Michels, former missile site guard Richard Barth described what he says was a direct encounter with non-human entities while stationed at a remote nuclear launch facility during the Cold War.
The account includes paralysis, missing time, telepathic communication, apparent transportation inside an unknown craft, and a chilling message allegedly delivered by the entities themselves: Humanity would not be allowed to destroy itself with nuclear weapons.
The story is impossible to independently verify. There is no publicly released military documentation confirming Barth’s claims. But the account is once again drawing attention because it mirrors decades of reports involving unidentified aerial phenomena appearing around nuclear weapons facilities across the United States and former Soviet Union. And unlike random civilian sightings, these cases often involve trained military personnel stationed at some of the most secure facilities on Earth.
The Encounter Began at a Minuteman Missile Site
According to Barth, the incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. while he was guarding Minuteman missile Site D5 during heavy fog conditions. The environment, he recalled, was almost surreal. Stadium-style security lights reflected off thick fog surrounding the installation, limiting visibility to only a few dozen feet in any direction. Shortly after another sergeant dropped off his lunch and left the site, Barth noticed a human shaped figure emerging slowly through the fog.
At first, he assumed it was a superior officer conducting an inspection. The figure wore what appeared to be a military style trench coat and cap. Then things allegedly became terrifying. Barth claims he suddenly felt intense pressure inside his mind as the figure approached. When he attempted to draw his standard issue revolver, he discovered his right arm was completely paralyzed. His body could still move. But his gun arm would not respond.
“If I try to see this face, I can’t see it. It’s blank. My brain doesn’t want to remember.”
Barth says he backed into the guard shack in panic before blacking out entirely.
Waking Up Inside an Unknown Circular Room
When consciousness returned, Barth says he found himself on his knees inside what he described as a dark circular chamber constructed from a smooth, continuous material unlike anything he recognized. Soft lighting appeared embedded directly into the walls themselves. In front of him was a circular opening or portal through which he could see outside conditions, despite no visible glass or barrier separating the opening from the exterior environment. Standing next to him was what he described as a tall humanoid figure communicating entirely through telepathy. The entity allegedly instructed him not to look directly at it.
“Don’t look at me. Just look through the circle.”
According to Barth, the entity then showed him what appeared to be a real time view of another missile site designated D11 across the road from his own location. He described watching a flatbed truck carrying long pipes approach the gate while security personnel checked identification and allowed the vehicle inside. The encounter became even stranger when Barth claims he noticed several smaller beings seated nearby. He described them as having disproportionately large round heads, dark eyes, thin necks, and small bodies, visually different from the stereotypical “Grey alien” often depicted in popular culture.
The Alleged Purpose: Accessing Nuclear Missile Systems
The most explosive claim in Barth’s story involves what the entities allegedly told him regarding their purpose at the missile facility. According to Barth, the beings needed access to electronic systems connected to the Minuteman missiles themselves. He explained that Minuteman launch facilities contain separate electronic guidance and control systems designed specifically to protect launch infrastructure from outside interference or sabotage.
The entities allegedly bypassed security systems by mentally controlling or disabling him long enough to gain access to the site. Barth claims the beings communicated that they were extracting or monitoring missile related data. More importantly, he says they delivered a direct warning regarding nuclear war. According to Barth, the entities made it explicitly clear that humanity would not be permitted to escalate into full nuclear destruction.
“They would under no circumstances allow nuclear war.”
That claim closely mirrors numerous historical UFO reports tied to nuclear installations. Former Air Force officers, including retired personnel connected to Malmstrom Air Force Base incidents in the 1960s, have publicly claimed unidentified objects appeared near nuclear sites while missile systems experienced unexplained shutdowns or activation anomalies. While skeptics argue there is no hard evidence connecting those incidents to extraterrestrial activity, the recurring overlap between UAP reports and nuclear weapons infrastructure has become one of the most persistent patterns in modern UFO research.
Terror Suddenly Turned Into “Universal Love”
Perhaps the most psychologically unusual aspect of Barth’s story came after the alleged encounter inside the craft. He says he regained consciousness lying outside near the guard shack with his head resting in the lap of the humanoid entity. The being, according to Barth, appeared apologetic for frightening him. He described an overwhelming emotional shift from terror into what he called profound peace, safety, and unconditional love.
The experience was so intense that Barth compared it to an infant resting safely with its mother. After the entity instructed him to keep his eyes closed until it departed, Barth eventually opened them to find the morning sun rising as the fog burned away around the missile site. What happened next became one of the most emotionally striking details of the account. Barth described seeing a small chipmunk nearby and suddenly feeling an overwhelming sense of connection with all living things. He claimed the experience fundamentally altered his perception of life itself.
The Memory Allegedly Vanished for Two Weeks
Barth says the most disturbing part of the incident may have been what happened afterward. When his Air Force replacement crew arrived that morning, he reportedly appeared confused, cold, and emotionally shaken. But by the time he returned to base, he claims the entire memory had disappeared. Gone completely. According to Barth, the memories returned suddenly and all at once roughly two weeks later while he was on day shift. He says he considered reporting the incident but felt what he described as a powerful internal command telling him to remain silent. Fearing psychiatric evaluation or institutional consequences, he kept the story hidden for decades.
Nuclear Weapons and UAPs Remain Deeply Linked
Whether Barth’s account reflects psychological trauma, misremembered events, classified military experimentation, sleep paralysis, or something genuinely anomalous remains impossible to determine. But his story exists within a much larger historical pattern. Since the dawn of the atomic age, military personnel around the world have repeatedly reported unidentified aerial phenomena appearing near nuclear weapons facilities, missile silos, bomber bases, and naval nuclear assets.
That pattern has fueled growing speculation among researchers that advanced unidentified craft, whatever their origin may be, show unusual interest in humanity’s nuclear capabilities. Some theorists believe nuclear detonations, radiation signatures, or electromagnetic systems may act as beacons detectable far beyond Earth. Others believe the repeated appearance of UAPs around nuclear infrastructure suggests active surveillance or even intervention. The most unsettling element of Barth’s story may not be the alleged beings themselves. It is the message they allegedly delivered. That humanity may not actually control the ultimate fate of its nuclear weapons systems as completely as governments believe.
