Two Dead After Late-Night Shooting at Miami-Dade Food Truck
Miami, FL – A late-night shooting at a popular food truck stop in northwest Miami-Dade left two people dead and another narrowly escaping injury, prompting a large-scale investigation by the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred shortly after midnight near the intersection of NW 27th Avenue and NW 30th Street. According to authorities, the violence erupted following an argument between the victims and the suspect near a food truck parked at the location.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue pronounced the woman dead at the scene. The male victim was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries early Monday morning.
“This was a senseless act of violence that stemmed from a verbal altercation,” said Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Joseph Peguero. “The subject approached the victims at a local establishment, a food truck, had an altercation of words where the subject brandished a firearm and shot at the victims.”
Authorities confirmed that a second woman who was with the deceased victims was also targeted but managed to flee the scene unharmed. Her identity and relationship to the victims have not been released.
Southbound NW 27th Avenue was shut down for several hours overnight as forensic teams processed the scene, collecting shell casings and canvassing for surveillance footage and witness statements. Traffic has since resumed in the area.
As of Monday morning, investigators had not released the identities of the deceased or issued a description of the suspect. No arrests have been made, and the motive behind the confrontation remains under investigation.
