Calvin Harris, born Adam Richard Wiles on January 17, 1984, is a Scottish electronic dance music (EDM) musician, producer, and DJ. He rose to prominence in the late 2000s and became one of the most successful and influential figures in the EDM industry. Harris is known for his chart-topping hits, energetic live performances, and collaborations with numerous popular artists.

Harris began his music career by releasing his debut album, “I Created Disco,” in 2007. The album featured his early electro-pop sound and spawned successful singles such as “Acceptable in the 80s” and “The Girls.” However, it was his second studio album, “Ready for the Weekend” (2009), that catapulted him to international fame. The album topped the UK Albums Chart and showcased his transition towards a more dance-oriented sound.

In 2011, Harris released his third studio album, “18 Months,” which achieved remarkable success. The album included a string of hit singles like “Feel So Close,” “We Found Love” (featuring Rihanna), “Sweet Nothing” (featuring Florence Welch), and “I Need Your Love” (featuring Ellie Goulding). “18 Months” became Harris’s breakthrough album, earning him critical acclaim and establishing him as a leading EDM artist.

Calvin Harris continued his streak of success with subsequent albums like “Motion” (2014), which featured collaborations with artists such as Ellie Goulding, John Newman, and Big Sean, and “Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1” (2017), which explored a funk-infused sound and boasted collaborations with Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams, and many others.

Throughout his career, Harris has been known for his ability to craft infectious, high-energy tracks that blend elements of electronic, pop, and dance music. His productions often feature catchy melodies, driving beats, and a keen sense of musicality. Additionally, his collaborations with renowned artists from various genres have helped him reach a wide audience and expand his musical horizons.

Calvin Harris’s contributions to the EDM industry have been widely recognized. He has received numerous accolades, including Grammy Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, and Brit Awards. Beyond his solo work, Harris has also been in demand as a sought-after producer, lending his talents to artists such as Dua Lipa, Sam Smith, and Rihanna.

While Harris’s music has evolved over the years, he has remained a prominent figure in the EDM scene, constantly pushing boundaries and exploring new sounds. His impact on the genre and his ability to consistently deliver chart-topping hits have solidified his status as one of the most influential and successful electronic musicians of his generation.
