COVID-19; Coronavirus Overtaking the United States

With the world being overtaken by the newest pandemic, the United States prepares for the virus to enter the country. COVID-19, more commonly known as the coronavirus that originated in Wuhan, China, is a deadly respiratory virus. There are people all over the world who are being affected by this virus. Normally, if you have a strong immune system, you will experience a decent illness and recover in due time. However, for those with a weaker immune system, this virus could eventually lead to pneumonia and even death.

 

Preparing for the Virus to Hit the United States

 

Health officials all over the country are announcing the worries over the spread of the coronavirus. Like the flu, this virus may be spread through touch and by air. This is the biggest growing worry currently. Due to many people who just assume they have a cold and go along with their day as normal; this virus has the potential to do a lot of damage. The World Health Organization recommends that you stay at least three feet away from anyone showing signs of any kind of sickness. Due to other countries having man outbreaks, travel is not recommended during this time.

 

Protection Measures

 

Firstly, unless you are in an area that has recently seen an outbreak of COVID-19, then the likelihood of you obtaining the disease is low. It is integral that you maintain proper hygiene though. Washing your hands with soap and rubbing them down with alcohol regularly is very important to maintain a lower chance of obtaining the virus. Do you very best to resist any touching of the eyes, nose and mouth. If you do need to make contact with these areas, once again wash your hands frequently. Droplets from sneezing and coughing are the main way that this disease will spread and its important to practice proper habits such as covering your mouth when coughing or sneezing.
