This Wednesday, February 26, 2020, there was a shooting by a disgruntled employee at the Molson Coors Brewery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The culprit, Anthony Ferrill, was fired that day. He then went home to retrieve his weapon. Upon his return he shot and killed five other employees in his disgruntled rage. After finishing what he came to do, he then killed himself. Authorities are saying this is the worst mass shooting in all of Wisconsin history.

What Sparked the Mass Shooting?

Anthony Ferrill was an employee at the Molson Coors Brewery, this location is one of the biggest breweries in the entire country. The shooter had been working for the company for 15 years before suffering an accident. He fell off a ladder and hurt his shoulder. This caused him to be unable to work. According to reports, he believed that there were spies from the company watching him to ensure that he wasn’t faking his injury. Upon returning to work, he was fired. That day he returned home to retrieve his gun. Anthony Ferrill supposedly built his own firearms through mail-order parts. He returned to the brewery with a silenced weapon. He fired upon 5 of his previous coworkers; killing all of them. After the onslaught, he then pointed the weapon on himself and fired, killing himself.

Fear and Fatalities

This is a terrifying event for people all over the area. Many family members were lost and the fear of having someone build their own weapons for personal use such as this is very scary. Those who were lost include; Jesus Valle Jr. from Milwaukee, Gennady Levshetz from Mequon, Trevor Wetselaar from Milwaukee, Dana Walk from Delafield and Dale Hudson of Waukesha. Our prayers go out for the family members of the victims of this tragedy. Hopefully there will be some type of solution to stop events such as this from happening again.
