Broward Sheriff’s Office Searching for Missing 17 Year Old Tamarac Girl
The Broward Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing teenage girl who disappeared from Tamarac late last week.
According to investigators, 17 year old Brisa Velasco was last seen around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, near the 8700 block of Northwest 57th Street in Tamarac. Since then, detectives have been working to determine her whereabouts and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Velasco is described as being 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing approximately 140 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. Authorities said she was last seen wearing all black clothing.
Missing person cases involving teenagers often generate heightened concern among investigators and family members, particularly when there has been no contact following a disappearance. At this time, Broward Sheriff’s Office officials have not released additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding Velasco’s disappearance or where she may have been headed when she was last seen.
Law enforcement agencies throughout South Florida routinely rely on public assistance in missing person investigations, and authorities say even seemingly minor information can prove critical in helping locate someone safely.
Anyone who has seen Brisa Velasco or has information about her whereabouts is urged to contact Broward Sheriff’s Office Detective Chris Blankenship at 954-321-4268. Tips can also be reported through the Broward Sheriff’s Office non-emergency line at 954-764-HELP (4357).
As the search continues, investigators are asking residents throughout Broward County to remain alert and report any information that could assist in bringing the missing teenager home safely.
